Pork and Parmesan meatballs are a treat for the whole family! You can serve them the classic way, with tomato sauce and mashed potatoes, or you can scoop them into a burger bun or even in a roll of flat bread.

Ingredients for 6 servings

1 wholemeal pitta bread
⅓ cup milk
1 pound minced pork
½ onion, finely chopped
1 ¼ cups finely grated Parmesan
¼ cup chopped parsley
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
Olive oil
2 eggs, beaten

Tear pitta bread into small pieces and place them in a small bowl. Pour milk over bread and let it soak for 10 minutes, until the whole liquid is absorbed.

In a processor bowl mix the pork mince with Parmesan, onion, eggs, parsley, garlic, pitta bread, paprika and salt and pepper. Mix them thoroughly.
Squish the pork mixture with your hands and form golf size balls.

Add oil into a large skillet and place over medium-high heat. When oil is hot, fry meatballs, turning them occasionally, until they are golden brown, around 8 to 10 minutes. You can fry them in batches.

When they are ready, transfer fried meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve with with a spicy tomato sauce and mashed potatoes!
