Spaghetti Bolognese is a true Italian recipe, easy to prepare and suitable for the whole family. This recipe has a rich, thick sauce with a wonderful flavor that will impress your guests!

Ingredients for 6 servings

500g spaghetti
1 tbsp olive oil
2 medium size onion, finely chopped
500g beef minced meat
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2-3 sprigs rosemary,finely chopped
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/3 tomato paste
800g tinned diced tomatoes
125ml red wine
salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese to serve, shaved
8-10 fresh basil leaves

Heat oil in a large saucepan and cook onion and garlic, stirring for 3-5 minutes, until softened. Drain the oil from the pan and add mince. Cook for another 8 minutes or until browned.
Add the diced tomatoes, rosemary, oregano, wine and tomato paste. Cook and stir at high heat for 1 minute, then reduce the heat and cook for another 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until you have a rich sauce.

Bring a large pot of (salted) water to boil. Add spaghetti and cook following the packet directions, minus 1 minute.
When the spaghetti are ready, drain the water then stir them into the Bolognese sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Divide pasta among 6 plates or bowls and serve with Parmesan cheese and top with fresh basil leaves.
